It's the first week of classes for the fall term yet again. I have watched a couple of excellent videos in class which has made this first week great. The first one I watched in my ECON 301 - Microeconomics Theory 2 course. It's a short parody created by Columbia Business School students after Ben Bernanke took over as Chairman of the Federal Reserve instead of runner-up, Columbia's own, Dean Glenn Hubbard. It was really well done so check it out below.
The second video I watched in my CS 489 - Human Computer Interaction class. It was a video about IDEO on ABC's Nightline. In short, it shows how IDEO, a product design firm, takes something old and familiar (in this case a shopping cart) and completely redesigns it. This was a project that was completed by IDEO in only 5 days and the final result was really good. Unfortuneately I couldn't find it online but I did find this short video clip of the beginning of the show.
All in all, it seems like this term is going to be an interesting one. From just the first half of the week I have no complaints about any course I'm enrolled in or the professors of those courses. Now let's just hope it stays that way.Jason Smith
